Ever since Gail A. Lee was a little girl she Always wanted to help people, she Always wanted to be a Nurse. Born and raised in Lafayette, La, Oldest of seven children; she graduated from Northside High School in 1973 and pursued her childhood dreams of becoming a nurse at T.H. Harris Vocational School in Opelousas, La. She began her career as a nurse 36 years ago at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital and still has the passion for her work and duties that come with the job. “You must have a caring heart to work with the sick and dying patients.”
Gail Lee is a dedicated wife to Aaron Charles Lee, mother of two Ja’nese and Aaron II and a grandmother of three. However, she still finds time to Volunteer her skills, talent and knowledge in the community and her church. As the CRE at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church Parish, Gail enjoys working with the religion program, where she is a Eucharist minister. For over 25 years she has been a member of the Knights of Peter Claver where she has been Grand Lady and Vice Grand Lady, Financial Secretary, and Jr. Daughter counselor. She has participated in the KPC Acadiana District IV and KPC Louisiana State as a Board Member and chaired different committees for Junior and Senior Conferences. Also a member of Martin Luther King Jr. Association here in Lafayette, La , over 25 years, where she served as the Treasurer for many years, assisted with the MLK Mr. and Miss Pageant, and volunteered her time at their Mother’s Day Fun Fest, Easter Egg Hunts, Safety Fun Fest and many other events.

Most importantly Gail Lee loves to work and help Children. She has mentor girls in the community for over 30 years with retreats, etiquette classes, help served at the soup kitchen diners, assists with food banks, volunteer at nursing homes with bingo and goody bags. Not by her herself always having children in the community with her so she can teach and motivate them to always “give back” and volunteer their time selflessly. With Modern Woodmen of America, Gail serves as a Youth Director where she meets with parents and their kids for educational programs and tours, community service events like plant trees, “care and share and help a child,’ prepare and distribute brown bags for underprivileged kids, collect blankets for homeless and mothers, help cook and serve food to the underprivileged in the area, and picked up baby items and Thanksgiving baskets for the needy. As a Chapter Leader with Modern Woodmen of America each year Gail assists with a Matching Fund program for the needs of sport teams and schools. She will pull her resources to make sure the recipient will receive full benefits from this program.
Still following her first passion, to help people; in 2009 during the USA devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Gail Lee and her husband Aaron Lee opened their doors to two families of New Orleans, whom resided with them for over three months. She also helped other families passing through or settling in Lafayette with information, resources and basic needs during the devastation.
